*The Hero

The Hero want to sing about the people, those who are always with us, and not the masters, mentors or great figures who excel past us. The average people may not be as intriguing, but they toughen us, for they are as tough as weeds. Great figures are crowned by the general consensus. However, there is nothing about them that stim ulates our nature. They may dominate us by creating illusions, but their own creativ ity is lacking. I paint the power of people, the driving force behind the flight. People are the true heroes. / Kim Gil-hu

*The Wise Man

A true superhuman who possesses wisdom, not knowledge-an en lightened being-this is the Wise Man. The Wise Man fully embodies the animalism, yet also respects the nature of rocks; animalism and rocks do not disregard ruins or chaos. In fact, they respect them, for they are part of Mother Nature. Hence, the Wise Man is the one who witnesses the future through meaningless and insignificant things. / Kim Gil-hu

*The Thinking Hand

I want to think not with my head, but with my body. The brain cannot bring out the energy of the universe. When we think with our bodies, the vital energy of life can be abundant. Thinking with one's body leads us to unleash a person's true creativity through its practical and active aspects. / Kim Gil-hu

*Paper

Paper is the most appropriate material through which my emotions can be communicated. Like a cat, I enjoy scratching paper. After the paper has been scratched, a wound of emotions is left alive and open. The paper's appearance depends on what I put on it. Paper is like a sponge, or sometimes steel. When painting a picture, have no concern for the light, whether it is lit or not. I do not start painting a picture after being inspired to do so. The instant I draw a line, a momentary inspiration comes through my mind. I like the artist Picasso. He drew pictures with such inspiration, glistening like the blade of a knife. I have a habit of drawing pictures with my fingers. Consequently, my emotions are left intact even after the forms of my inspiration have been washed away-like painting in water. / Kim Gil-hu
